Michelle Malkin, one of my favorite writers, has posted an incredible obituary in her weblog. The obit is for a man who - according to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer - was a very loving dad and wonderful friend to all.

In my years as a fundraiser, I came across some extraordinary folks. One of these people is a gentleman by the name of John Loftus.
Mr. Loftus is a former U.S. Deputy Attorney General and a best-selling author. Perhaps his finest work is "The Secret War Against the Jews - How Western Espionage Betrayed The Jewish People".
I had booked Mr. Loftus to speak for the UJA a number of times and was utterly amazed with his knowledge and experiences. Although not a Jew himself, he fully understands the plight of the Jewish people.
Because of this, instead of an original article, I have decided to post an article I had read in the World Jewish Digest. The text was actually from a speech Mr. Loftus gave not too long ago. I know you will appreciate it as much as I have.
Please read it -- HERE.
(Thanks to Matti Shicker and Devorah Worch for your help!)

Ok, I've been sick for 6 days. Three of my kids are sick and now my wife is not feeling well. Yuck. I had an enormous headache most of the day, but still got a chance to watch the Cowboys -- Bears game. Of course, watching the first half made my head feel worse.
The turkey was great. I have to say that my wife makes a great turkey!
No real shocker on "The Apprentice" last night. It's sad. By the time they were down to 5 people last time, I truly cared who would win. This season, Kelly seems to be a no-brainer. This latest group annoys me. I really don't care much for any of them.
So now everyone wants a piece of the pie. The news that the 23 ex-students who sang on the classic Pink Floyd song, "Another Brick in the Wall," have come forward to claim royalties due them.
According to the London Evening Standard, the former students are taking advantage a copyright law - that was enacted in 1997 - to claim a percentage of the money from broadcasts.
For Pink Floyd, I guess it's just another brick in the wall.
Have a great weekend!

In honor of Thanksgiving, my latest article, "Celebrating Thanksgiving," is a little different than my normal ranting. Although hard to believe, I actually have a few things I'm thankful for. You can read it at www.shaynezucker.com.
I had originally tried to write an ode to the terrible head cold I am suffering from, but I couldn't express my agony in words. Therefore, you'll have to do with the tripe I posted. Maybe when my head clears, I'll try again. Although, I guess it wouldn't need to be said then.
Two of my kids are suffering along with me. Apparently, another had his school call to say he was not feeling well either. Of course, with Mayer, it could be a bad case of "shegetstostayhomewhycanti-itis."
So once again, there is no rest for the weary. Oh well.
Well anyway, happy turkey day and GO COWBOYS!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I've been under the weather and just haven't had the energy. I'm in the middle of writing a new article and hopeful will have it done by tomorrow.
Started teaching this last week. I forgot how stressful teaching can be. Especially grade school boys. Yikes! Plus, the school is open on Thanksgiving Day. It will be the first Turkey Day that I'll miss watching the Cowboys play.
Oh well, I guess I won't miss much!

I don't understand all the hubbub about the Monday Night Football opening. For those who missed it, Philadelphia Eagles Wide Receiver Terrell Owens appeared in the locker room as he was getting ready to play. In walked Nicole Sheridan (from Desperate Housewives), who was wearing nothing but a towel. She took off her robe (nothing could be seen) and seduced him to stay and miss the game.
While I readily admit that it borders on pornographic, it is certainly no worse than 75% of the shows currently on TV. The argument people have used to criticize the spot was that young people watch the game. However the game is on at 9pm eastern time. Again, there are far worse things on TV.
Yes, it was probably too hot for network TV, but the outcry from everyone is a little much.
The Eagles and ABC apologized. So far, no one from the Dallas Cowboys have offered their apology for the way they played.

I just read a great article written by Dennis Prager regarding the movement in Los Sngeles to change the official city seal. Apparently, the ACLU thinks it's too Christian. It's an interesting column that can be accessed -- HERE.
How 'bout them Cowboys? Yech. One more game (against Baltimore) before Big Bill decides to throw the rookies into the fire (hear that Mr. Henson?)

A number of you were wondering what the heck it was I was talking about in my last post. No, it isn't biographical. I had always (well at least for the last couple of years) wanted to write short stories. I had always been told to "write what you know," so I chose my first story to be about a man named James.
I only meant to post the beginning as a sort of teaser. Hopefully, I will have the whole story published on my website very soon.
In the meantime, I just posted my latest article, "The Truth About Health Care" (talk about something I know). Although I voted Republican, health care is an issue that has not been handled very well by either Party. Both are too extreme. I believe there needs to be a common ground to help the millions of Americans who are without health benefits.
The article can be read -- HERE.

If you had the opportunity to end your life, with no questions asked, would you do it?
I would assume most people would say no. But what if life were really tough? What if there really appeared to be no light at the end of the tunnel? What if, your life had become so miserable that the thought of living it was just too much to bear?
James suffered for a number of years with a chronic heart disease that just wore him down. He was healthy until he turned 25. When diagnosed, he had just been married to Molly for a year and was expecting his first child, a daughter.
Then things got bad.
Over the next 7 years, as his condition deteriorated, he became withdrawn and not just a little angry. His anxiety and him moodiness created enormous tension in the house. After the birth of his second daughter, he became to sick to work. Molly felt strongly that James was playing his disease for all it was worth. She saw that he had the physical ability to do what it took to support them. What he lacked was emotional strength. He just couldn't bring himself to be a part of the family. He didn't want to be apart from them, but he didn't seem to be a part of them anymore.
James later admitted that he wasn't aware of her disappointment until she walked out on him and took the kids with her.
One year later, he received news that he was eligible for a heart transplant. Although his marriage had ended, he hoped that he would be able to rebuild his life and maybe even reconcile with his Molly. The girls just turned 7 and 4 and he did miss them. He spent a lot of time with them just after the divorce, but those visits became less and less frequent. He and Molly remained friends. She really cared about him, but she could no longer be around him. He was always so sad and moody.
He understood that it was the heart disease that clouded his ability to control his anger, depression and anxiety. With a new heart, he promised himself he would be a new man.
After waiting just under a year, he received his transplant. The operation was a success and he spent the next 4 weeks in the hospital recuperating. He felt like a new man.
And then he heard the news...

Well, Arafat's still alive. It appears he will be buried in Ramallah. I still don't think he should be. I like the idea of his being cremated and placed in the United Nations vaults. After all, they were his best friends.
I watched an afternoon "town hall" type show on FOX earlier today. What I found most interesting was the discussion about Arafat's bank accounts. According to most experts - including those from the Palestinians - Arafat is worth 1-3 billion dollars and according to a FOX News source, as much as $10 billion.
Although the news anchor mentioned that this money was given to the PLO leader by many sources, including the US, EU, UN and (incredibly) Israel as well as Saudi Arabia and Iraq, it was specifically for the purpose of building a new nation alongside of Israel. Instead, it has been hidden in banks all over the world while Arafat denies his people even the basic necessities of life.
What struck me about this was that the anchor seemed to dismiss this as anything wrong. Her attitude was disturbing. Instead of being enraged and perhaps showing some acknowledgement to the fact that it is very clear that the anger of the Arabs towards Israel has been terribly misplaced, she appeared to just imply that it's just the way it is.
There should be and should have been consequences aside from giving Arafat more money. The idea that Israel has been abusing the Arabs has always been a fallacy. Unfortunately, instead of cutting Arafat off, the world continues to give him the money he needs to kill more Jews and oppress his people.
That's just sick. FOX News, CNN and all the rest, along with all guilty parties should just be ashamed of themselves. It isn't enough to apologize. More needs to be done.
It is high time that it is.

Yasir Arafat is, unfortunately, still alive. On the positive side, maybe he's in horrendous pain. Of course, not as much pain as he will be feeling after he expires.
I just posted what I hope will be the last article I ever write about the PLO monster (now that's redundant). It's titled, "Death Becomes Him." (read it -- HERE)
I'm not starting my teaching job for another week, so I'm still recuperating. But, I'm finally able to sit at my computer. I thank everyone for their well wishes and prayers. Hopefully, this really will be the last of all my surgeries. I already feel considerably better than I have in a long, long time. Hopefully, it's a harbinger of good things to come.

Well, I didn't publish a new article, but will try to finish the one I've started after the weekend.
I'm amazed at both Republicans who are gloating (nastily, I may add) and Democrats who just don't get it. It's time for the Dems to understand that just because they feel strongly about something, it doesn't mean they are right. It also doesn't mean that those who disagree are ignorant. It's sad that people have to settle for excuses instead of facing the reality head on.
In one of the political commercials, the Republicans were portrayed as ostriches with their heads in the sand. I found this extremely arrogant and I believe a big issue for the future of the Democratic Party is their acceptance that arrogance is not a virtue.
I truly believe that Kerry many well have succeeded had he distanced himself from the likes of Michael Moore and the like. Granted, he needed George Soros's money, but the liberal left would have still supported him regardless. It's not as if they had other alternatives.
This victory by President Bush was a victory not only for conservatives, but even more so for moderates. It should be clear to the left that while the Dems certainly have their hearts in the right place, the majority of Americans do not agree with their more liberal ideals.
************************************************************************************
Hopefully, it will be very soon till we no longer hear the name "Yasir Arafat." For all the glowing remarks and get well wishes he receives from world "leaders", it is important to remember that he is responsible for more 20th and 21st century deaths that all but a few despots. He should always be remembered for the tragedy that is the "Palestinian" people.
President Bush commented that G-d should "bless his soul." It's hard for me to imagine that Arafat has one.

Yes, I'm relieved. No, I am certainly not going to gloat.
I just watched Senator Kerry's concession remarks and I appreciate his message of reconciliation. While I didn't expect him to speak otherwise, he didn't have to even bring it up.
The country really does need to come back together. I believe that President Bush has much more of a mandate than he had in 2000, and I think that will help his standing. It will be a real test of the President to work at bringing both sides of the electorate together. However, it is also up to the Democrats to forge this as well. The majority of the country agree that Bush has the right idea regarding the war and both parties need to work together to see this through.
Unfortunately, we are only 2 and a half years away from the start-up to 2008. I can already imagine Hillary gearing up. Can't wait till that happens!
I appreciate all the comments from both Bush supporters and Kerry supporters. I intend to continue my blog and my articles and hope that although this election is over, many of you will continue to support my blog and continue to visit.
Stay tuned. New article tomorrow (I hope).

It's all been said and it's all up to the voters now. According to the latest polls in Illinois, Kerry will probably take the state. I guess Bin Laden will leave Chicago alone (at least according to the NY Post)!
I'm voting anyway. You just never know.
I just posted my latest article, "Kerry and the Jewish Vote." (read it -- HERE) I'm so surprised, given the unprecedented support Bush has gives to Israel, many Jews will still cast their ballots for John Kerry. Either the future of the State of Israel is of no consequence to them or they are simply incapable of voting Republican.
Either way, it's a shame.
The surgery was successful and I hope to get back on my regular schedule next week. Although I have a new scar, it pretty much covers up the old one. Apparently, the doc also gave me a bit of a tummy-tuck. I'm now at my lowest weight and size (not counting immediately following the transplant) I've been at in about 20 years. Plus, I looook mahvelous.
Hey, if I don't believe it, no one else will!
Well, my allotted 15 minutes sitting is over, so I'll end this. Thanks again for all your well-wishes and enjoy the election. Hopefully, we'll know the outcome during our lifetime!
