We're on the road this week to New York and New England. My niece's wedding in Brooklyn was last night and we are off to Rhode Island today to visit the out...oops, I mean the IN-laws.
Our fist stop was Cooperstown, NY and the baseball Hall of Fame. Cooperstown is a quaint little town nestled near Albany. The Hall was fun to see, but after about 2 hours, I was exhausted.
The plan is to be back home Monday morning.

I'm really upset about the whole Terri Schiavo situation. Why are they even considering killing here? The facts as I've seen, heard and read (from many different sources) lead me to believe the following:
And to add to the misery, they want to starve her to death!
Even criminals on death row die with more dignity. If she were a mass murdered, death by starvation would constitute "cruel and unusual punishment".
Furthermore, where the hell is the ACLU in all of this. They come to the aid of the absolutely worst that society has to offer, but when it comes to an ordinary American citizen, they clam up.
Why?
This culture of death is disgusting and I believe is greatly linked to the absence of G-d in the leftists lives.
That's right. Leftists. You won't find many in the center or right pushing for Terri's death.
When you devalue the omnipotency of G-d and elevate humanism, their thought process begins to make sense. It's not that much different from the other myriad of examples throughout history. When it's been up to society to define what is right and what is wrong, we end up with Nazism, communism and fascism.
It's been proven time after time. In the liberal mind-set, death is glorified as a needed occurrence in order to improve the lives of the living. Recently, we saw this attitude when Hunter Thompson blew his brains out in front of his children - all the while being praised for his courage.
It may well be true that Terri mentioned to her husband (privately) that she wouldn't have wanted to live like this. However, since there is only her husband's testimony - and clearly questions about his motive - how can anyone justify starving this poor woman to death?
Where is the NCADP??? Where is NOW???
Their silence is deafening.
1. She is not brain dead
2. She has shown that she is aware of her surroundings and her family
3. There is absolutely no proof the she would have wanted to die
4. Michael Schiavo has spent all but $50,000 of the nearly $1 million awarded to Terry in a malpractice suit. The money was
designated for future medical expenses, but court records show that much of the money went towards legal proceedings, including $400,000 that went to Michael Schiavo' s attorney.

ROOT CAUSE: ISRAEL?
from Honest Reporting...
A high-profile international conference on combating terrorism, with Kofi Annan and other world leaders in attendance, is currently underway in Madrid. It takes place one year after terrorists killed 191 people in an attack on that city's commuter rail lines.
One of the topics addressed in Madrid yesterday (Mar. 9) was the source of Islamic terrorism. A number of opinions were expressed, including that of a former Mossad chief, but the Associated Press summary chose to amplify only one opinion ― that Israeli policy is the 'root cause' of the entire international terrorist scourge. The article begins:
AP continues with a heavily editorialized statement from Palestinian Saeb Erakat ― note where the Erakat quote ends and the reporter picks up:

Resolving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict is key to any hope of curtailing global outbursts of violence, panelists at a summit on democracy, terrorism and security said Wednesday. That is at the heart of Arabs' feelings of discrimination by foreign political, social and economic policies.
AP continues with a heavily editorialized statement from Palestinian Saeb Erakat ― note where the Erakat quote ends and the reporter picks up:
"I have a 17-year-old boy, Ali," said Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erakat. "I don't want him to become a suicide bomber" as a desperate way to achieve legitimate dreams including an independent state, viable homeland with Jerusalem as capital and right of refugees to reclaim lost land. "Help me. Help me put hope in his mind."HonestReporting asks: (1) Why did AP choose to report only the 'blame Israel for world terror' opinion from this session at the conference? and (2) Why did the reporter supplement Erakat's quote with what appears to be personal opinion on the 'legitimate dreams' of Palestinians?

Reason #82 why I'm glad I no longer live in Florida:
To quote Keanu Reeves from the movie Parenthood, "You know, you need a license to buy a dog, or to drive a car, hell you even need a license to catch a fish. But they'll let any butt-reamin' a**hole be a father."

While Abbas claims that Israel must follow the "Road Map" in order for there to be any negotiations for a peaceful settlement, he claims that it is a good thing that Hamas will be a major part of his government.
Just to refresh everyone's memory, here is part of the The Charter of the Hamas:
Here is part of the text of the official "Road Map to Peace":
Just to refresh everyone's memory, here is part of the The Charter of the Hamas:
Peaceful Solutions, Initiatives and International Conferences :Does this sound like Abbas is following the "Road Map"?
[Peace] initiatives, the so-called peaceful solutions, and the international conferences to resolve the Palestinian problem, are all contrary to the beliefs of the Islamic Resistance Movement. For renouncing any part of Palestine means renouncing part of the religion; the nationalism of the Islamic Resistance Movement is part of its faith, the movement educates its members to adhere to its principles and to raise the banner of Allah over their homeland as they fight their Jihad: "Allah is the all-powerful, but most people are not aware."
From time to time a clamouring is voiced, to hold an International Conference in search for a solution to the problem. Some accept the idea, others reject it, for one reason or another, demanding the implementation of this or that conditions, as a prerequisite for agreeing to convene the Conference or for participating in it. But the Islamic Resistance Movement, which is aware of the [prospective] parties to this conference, and of their past and present positions towards the problems of the Muslims, does not believe that those conferences are capable of responding to demands, or of restoring rights or doing justice to the oppressed. Those conferences are no more than a means to appoint the nonbelievers as arbitrators in the lands of Islam. Since when did the Unbelievers do justice to the Believers?
"But the Jews will not be pleased with thee, neither the Christians, until thou follow their religion; say, The direction of Allah is the true direction. And verily if thou follow their desires, after the knowledge which hath been given thee, thou shalt find no protector or helper from Allah." (Sura 2 - The Cow - verse 120).
There is no solution to the Palestinian problem except by Jihad. The initiatives, proposals and International Conferences are but a waste of time, an exercise in futility. The Palestinian people know better than to consent to having their future, rights and fate toyed with. As in said in the honourable Hadith:
"The people of Syria are Allah's lash in His land. He wreaks His vengeance through them against whomsoever He wishes among His worshippers. It is unthinkable that those who are double-faced among them should prosper over the faithful. They will certainly die out of grief and desperation." (Told by Tabarani, who istraceable in ascending order of traditionaries to Muhammed, and by Ahmed whose chain of transmission is incomplete. But it is bound to be a true hadith, for both story tellers are reliable. Allah knows best)."
Here is part of the text of the official "Road Map to Peace":
SecurityYou make the call.
Palestinians declare an unequivocal end to violence and terrorism and undertake visible efforts on the ground to arrest, disrupt, and restrain individuals and groups conducting and planning violent attacks on Israelis anywhere.
Rebuilt and refocused Palestinian Authority security apparatus begins sustained, targeted, and effective operations aimed at confronting all those engaged in terror and dismantlement of terrorist capabilities and infrastructure. This includes commencing confiscation of illegal weapons and consolidation of security authority, free of association with terror and corruption.

I just posted a new article on my website titled, "Democracy Without Freedom." It took me a while to be able to express my feelings regarding what I see as a complete lack of fairness. On one end, I strongly support President Bush's vision regarding spreading democracy in order to combat terrorism. On the other hand, I am greatly disturbed by the way the Arabs treating this new found freedom.
Perhaps it's just the beginning. After all, America was considered a "free" nation before the emancipation of the slaves. But knowing what we know now, shouldn't the new "free democracies" be free for everyone?
With the longer teaching hours and a diet consisting of Resse's and York Peppermint Patties, I don't have nearly enough t write. However, I'm just about done with the last installment of my transplant story (unless I add more down the line) and am still re-editing my short story.
Check out my latest article - here.
