So Terrell Owens is a Cowboy. That doesn't surprise me. Not when you consider that throughout their history they have consistently made moves like this - remember Roger Staubach, Herschel Walker and Deion Sanders, to name a few.
What will happen, you ask? My guess is that Owens will be on his best behavior as long as two things happen; the team wins and big Bill continues to coach. If there is one coach who will not take any crap from anyone, it's Bill Parcells.
I got a mailing the other day from the United States Postal Service that has my in a snit.
Apparently, our tax money is being spent to promote easy-access for passports for Hispanics. The mailing is written almost entirely in Spanish.
Now, I have absolutely no problem with Hispanics having passports. However, I do have a problem with an American governmental enterprise using a foreign language to promote passports. I have long come to realize that a major problem in America is bi-lingualism. One of the main reasons America has been so successful is because it is a melting pot of different cultures. No one culture is place above any other. If you want to be a successful part of this incredible example of freedom, you need to learn the language.
In many parts of the world, trouble has arisen from not a mix of cultures, but from a clash of them. I fear for any country who allows their culture to be compromised in the name of inclusion. Inclusion, the way it's practiced in Europe, is a myth. Allowing any culture the opportunity to exist as a state-within-a-state has proven disastrous to a number of countries. France and England have begun feeling the heat from the Muslim immigration and Israel, of course, is desperately trying to extricate itself from fallout of Oslo. Look no further to the wars amongst the African tribes, the Kurds and Turks and countless other experiments in inclusion gone horribly wrong.
I'm thrilled that Susan Sarandon is set to play Cindy Sheehan in an upcoming movie about the piece-of-excrement mom. That gives me two reasons to not see it. The last movie I saw with Mrs. Tim Robbins was "Bull Durham". While I thoroughly enjoyed that film, bear in mind I made the gawd-awful mistake for voting for Wild-Bill Clinton as well. So I figure when I saw Sarandon in "Bull Durham" I was going through my "moronic" stage of life.
Yes, I know some people think I've never left it. Thank you.
I love the comments made today by President Bush. His warning to Iran to stay away from Israel probably didn't need to be said, but I appreciate it anyway. I believe Iran has gotten a little to cocky for their own good. While there is certainly a vocal number of Americans who are against Bush's agenda, most of us stand with him and agree that it's better to find the enemy there, rather than here.
