I am in a foul mood today. It's one of those days when nothing seems to go the right way. It's one of those days when you discover the last cold Coke you had saved for today was taken by one of the kids - the same kid who took the last ice cream bar.

It's the kind of day that has two of your boys fighting with each other and just when you thought everything had settled down, someone does something stupid to get it all started again. And of course, this leads to have a tennis ball thrown by the younger boy at the head of the older boy. The good news is that he has no aim, so he didn't hit his brother. The bad news is he has no aim, meaning his projectile shattered the glass window on the grandfather clock.

It's the kind of day when the package that absolutely, positively had to be there yesterday, hasn't shown up yet.

The kind of a day where the weatherman predicted that the showers he failed to predict yesterday, haven't stopped - even though he was certain it would.

It's the kind of day when after the 5th kool-aid spill of the morning is unable to be cleaned because you've run out of Ajax.

It's the kind of a day where the idea of "aim" is meaningless to two 7-year-old boys with active bladders.

It's the kind of a day that starts out with the fear of the posibility that I may soon be woken up to the reality of "Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi." (Okay, I stole that one from Thomaas Sowell).

Ugh. Wake me up when September ends.
