"Here’s how I look at the choice Americans face in this election. In politics, there are some candidates who use change to promote their careers. And then there are those, like John McCain, who use their careers to promote change."
Steeeeerike two!

By the way, did anyone else notice she was wearing an Israeli flag pin last night? To be honest, I didn't. But Weasel Zippers caught it:

UPDATE from Weasel Zippers: Maybe not!

could be a Blue Star Service pin. Only difference being the red border....

VERY smart move, the pin. Pandering, kiss-up, manipulative...it is EXACTLY the right thing to do to get the RepubliJews (who LOVE being pandered and kissed-up to, not to mention manipulated) in her corner and polluting the blogosphere with a buncha "See? She LOVES us! She is pro-Israel, yessirree!" flotsam.

Yes....VERY smart move, that pin. The woman really does have no shame, and it is delightful entertainment. Now I am looking forward to her first Spanish speech insertion!

Read the update, Mr. Cynical. Turns out it was a blue star service pin worn by parent who's children are (or will be) deployed overseas.

We at Shayneblog regret the error. Do you?

We in Shayneblog ReaderLand do not so much regret the error as we regret that Ms. Palin was NOT wearing an Israeli flag pin. Incubating begrudging respect -- for her choice of pin, anyway -- is not nearly as much fun as making fun of Ms. Palin for pandering and kissing-up and having no shame. Darn.

Having said that, I am still eagerly awaiting her first speech before folks who aren't primarily middle-or-higher class suburban white folks.

Wondering what McCain's acceptance speech numbers will look like next to those for tonight's Jints-Skins contest...GO GIANTS!

Oh, and it has to be said...I did find the quote you featured from last night's Palin-channeling-Bush speech (her text was written by his speechwriters, after all) to be a first rate zinger.
