I thing the utility companies are out to get me. As I mentioned the other day, our phone went dead Sunday. It took until Tuesday morning for the phone guy to finally repair it. It actually started working Monday night, but on Tuesday morning, it went dead again. I left the house at around 9am, to take Renee to work and left the boys with Rachel. By the time I got home, the phone worked.

But...the lights didn't .

Apparently, while working on the telephone pole, the phone rep caused a short in electric line (I'm guessing here, but I no better theory). I immediately called ComEd - assuming they didn't read my rant about them - and was assured they would correct the problem within 72 hours.

Thank G-d, it came back on today. However, it cost quite a bit of money. Aside from the food spoilage, I had to take everyone out to dinner. While the kids enjoyed it, my wallet cried.

Renee is now at the store, spending the money we budgeted on school supplies and uniforms (not ALL the money - I hope).

Also, we took the kids on a train ride around the loop (downtown Chicago) and to see a movie. We saw Yu-Gi-Oh, The Movie. Now that the numbing in my brain has subsided, I think I'll go to bed. Maybe I'll watch Blue Collar TV. I taped it tonight, so Renee and I could watch it together. Nothin' like a guy from Tennessee and Texas and a girl from Arkansas watchin' redneck television! Yee-ha!
