So, moonbat ex-President Jimmah Carter has - as Ronald Reagan once said - done it again. Carter, who never met a terrorist he didn't like, has written an article in today's Washington Post that is both hysterical and disturbing. Hysterical because not only does Jimmah still feel that anyone cares what his opinion is anymore, but that it was his own failed policies that have led the world crisis in the first place.

Now it should be noted that the title of Carter's piece, Stop the Band-Aid Treatment, was compelling to me. I have long argued that every Middle East "peace plan" ever created was a band aid.

But then I read the rest of the article.

The problem with Carter is that he failed as a President, many a president has. The problem with him is that he's completely oblivious to his failure. He didn't just lose to Reagan, he was soundly beaten. 44 states voted that we were "not better off than we were 4 years ago". During the Carter years, we witnessed the following misery in America and the World:

The Iranian Revolution
The kidnapping of 52 hostages by Islamofacists
The inept attempt to rescue the hostages
Double-digit inflation and the
disintermediation of bank deposits, which began the Savings and Loan crisis
The giving-away of the Panama Canal
SALT II (which by Jimma's tune today would not be something he favors)
Pardoning of Vietnam War draft dodgers
Billy Carter (need I say more?)

In fact, I remember the time very well. When the election was over, an enormous sense of a weight had been lifted off of us. Sure, Carter had his victories. He was the one who actually got the hostages freed. But clearly that freedom was due more to Reagan's tough stance and Iran's concern of repercussion, than anything Jimmah ever did.

Like today, Jimmy is all about "peace" and "harmony". Like a true leftist, he believes dialogue can solve all the World's problems. What he doesn't understand, and never did, was that while he was out holding hands for humanity, the real World was building an army of hate. Jimmy Carter didn't cause Islamic fundamentalism, he simply allowed it to succeed.

And how did he do that?

The same way he feels the Bush administration and Israel should treat the Islamofacists today. Jimmah's big plan is "dialogue". If we just talk to the Arabs who hate us, we can come to an agreement with them.

This worked so spectacularly in his administration, didn't it?

I will read you a part of his article:

A major impediment to progress is Washington's strange policy that dialogue on controversial issues will be extended only as a reward for subservient behavior and will be withheld from those who reject U.S. assertions. Direct engagement with the Palestine Liberation Organization or the Palestinian Authority and the government in Damascus will be necessary if secure negotiated settlements are to be achieved. Failure to address the issues and leaders involved risks the creation of an arc of even greater instability running from Jerusalem through Beirut, Damascus, Baghdad and Tehran.

So, what Jimmah is saying is that we should just talk to the PLO and Syria in order to negotiate a settlement. Right.
Haven't we been doing that? Didn't the World witness the signing of suicidal Oslo Accords? Was it lack of communication that led to all of those Jews being killed by suicidal terrorists? Was it lack of communication that led to Rockets raining down daily on the Israeli cities of Sdorot, Ashkelon, Kiryat Shemona and Haifa?

Who the hell is he kidding?

Jimmah's failure to realize that this war is not about Israeli occupation (Shebaa Farms? Give me a break). This war is about using Israel as bait to see how much Iran can get away with. Any negotiation at this point would only serve Iran. Unless Israel completely disarms, destroys or demolishes Hezbollah, the "Arab Street" will treat it as a victory.

One thing I never understood about the "peace at any cost" crowd. Since when is self-defense considered immoral?

If we listen to Jimmy Carter, we will fall into the same trap all of our preceding Presidents fell into - including Reagan. Appeasement at any level against an enemy sworn to destroy you is suicide. Thanks to Carter, we are far removed from any negotiation. The only language we should be speaking is victory at all cost.
